About the role

Engineering Manager position leading the Classroom Mobile Platform team, responsible for guiding mobile engineering efforts for Google Classroom on Flutter/Dart, partnering with cross-functional teams, and shaping investments and infrastructure to drive key metrics and user outcomes.

Responsibilities

  • Manage and coach the Classroom Mobile Platform engineering team of about 8.
  • Provide technical leadership and guidance to the team as they design and build new software systems.
  • Partner with technical leads and managers from partner engineering teams to ensure effective collaboration to land key topline metrics and organization goals.
  • Collaborate closely with cross-functional partners in user research, design, and product to understand educators’ needs, and translate them into the right technical decisions and systems.
  • Maintain a healthy and effective team culture for your team and partner teams.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience.
  • 8 years of experience in software development.
  • 3 years of experience with full stack development, across the back-end such as Java, Python, Golang, or C++ codebases, and front-end experience including JavaScript or TypeScript, HTML, CSS or equivalent.
  • 3 years of experience in a technical leadership role.
  • 2 years of experience in a people management or team leadership role.

  • US: $207000 - $300000 (USD) + 20% bonus target + equity + benefits
