About the role

Software Engineering Manager role focused on end-to-end technical leadership for embedded systems, firmware, and custom silicon platforms within Google's AI and Infrastructure teams. Responsible for guiding architecture, coordinating cross-functional partners, delivering production-ready solutions, and mentoring engineers.

Responsibilities

  • Drive the end-to-end technical goal, design, and scalable architecture for custom firmware and system software features across custom silicon platforms.
  • Partner closely with Silicon Architecture, Validation, System Software, and Server Platform teams to define requirements and deliver integrated, production-ready solutions.
  • Guide complex architectural trade-offs to optimize system performance, power efficiency, hardware telemetry, and software agility.
  • Establish engineering standards, testing strategies, and execution plans to deliver milestone commitments throughout bring-up and production deployment cycles.
  • Mentor and grow an engineering team while cultivating a highly collaborative and psychologically safe environment.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience.
  • 8 years of experience in software development.
  • 3 years of experience with embedded operating systems.
  • 3 years of experience in a technical leadership role.
  • 2 years of experience in a people management or team leadership role.
  • Experience with firmware or software development.
