About the role

Embedded systems/kernel-focused software engineer role within Google Pixel, responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining the Android-based embedded system software stack and kernel, with potential leadership in BSP/driver integration.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and sustain the whole system software stack for Pixel devices.
  • Build Google SoC and the in-market devices system software kernel sustaining.
  • Design, develop, test, deploy, maintain, and improve the software quality.
  • Triage product or system issues and debug/track/resolve by analyzing the sources of issues and the impact on hardware, network, or service operations and quality.
  • Review code developed by other developers and provide feedback to ensure best practices (e.g., style guidelines, checking code in, accuracy, testability, and efficiency).

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience.
  • 5 years of experience with software development in C++ and C.
  • 3 years of experience working with embedded operating systems.
  • 2 years of experience working with the Linux kernel and Android systems.
