Commodity Manager role focused on Hard Disk Drives and Tape Storage, developing sourcing strategies, managing supplier relationships, and leading cross-functional teams to optimize total cost of ownership for Google's HDD and Tape Storage commodities and related infrastructure.

Responsibilities

  • Develop long term sourcing strategies for Hard Disk Drives and Tape Storage. Implement supply chain improvements.
  • Develop and manage master purchase agreements with suppliers. Conduct high-level discussion and secure comprehensive agreements with supplier executives.
  • Lead cross-functional teams while growing and maintaining a high level of industry expertise and supplier/market conditions.
  • Manage supplier relationships and performance in technology alignment, cost, quality, delivery and resiliency.
  • Interface with engineering for early engagement and roadmap alignment and lead supplier selection for Tape Storage.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in a technical or engineering field or equivalent practical experience.
  • 7 years of experience in procurement and supply chain management.
  • Experience in Hard Disk Drive (HDD) and Tape Storage category or commodity management, agreement negotiation, and supplier development.
