About the role

AWS Infrastructure Services design, deliver, and operate AWS global infrastructure. The Data Center Technician is a primary resolver for the support team, troubleshoots operating systems, documents SOPs, and may lead local projects across multiple sites with potential travel.

Responsibilities

  • Troubleshoot and solve infrastructure issues across one or more operating systems
  • Escalate issues to appropriate resolver groups as needed
  • Create and maintain documentation on supported technologies and convey SOPs to junior staff
  • Understand all aspects of the equipment supported and make autonomous decisions when appropriate
  • Execute small projects independently and assist in planning/executing larger local projects
  • Serve as an escalation point for junior technicians
  • Work may include rotating shifts (3, 4, or 5 day/night weeks) and up to 10% travel
  • Position may fill an opening at one of multiple separate sites
  • Possess and maintain active Top Secret security clearance with SCI eligibility
  • Travel up to 10% of the time
  • Work with a diverse team across software, hardware, and network engineering, supply chain, security, and operations teams

Qualifications

  • High school or equivalent diploma, or A+ or CND (Certified Network Defender) or Network+ or Security+
  • 2+ years of computer hardware experience, including troubleshooting and repairing
  • Current, active US Government Security Clearance of Top Secret with SCI eligibility or above
  • 2+ years of TCP/IP networking, network cabling, fiber, optic types, and test equipment experience (preferred)
  • 1+ years of data center experience (preferred)
