About the role

Automation control design and control software development for FC automation equipment and MHE, with project lifecycle management including schedule, scope, and cost. Focus on system control design for conveying, sorting, and integrated cells, plus vendor management, documentation, and process improvements.

Responsibilities

  • Control design and development for automated equipment and MHE; review electrical/mechanical designs from a control perspective and provide feedback; perform equipment qualification (installation, commissioning, throughput verification); trouble-shoot system issues; on-site commissioning and debugging at FC facilities.
  • Project management of assigned control projects including planning and management of schedule, scope, and cost; trade-offs on time, quality, and resources; define success metrics; mitigate risks; coordinate with internal stakeholders and external vendors.
  • Vendor verification, acceptance testing of vendor control programs; preparation and review of control specifications; lead vendor management and technical negotiations.
  • Process improvement within teams and cross-teams; participate in recruiting activities; mentor junior engineers.

Qualifications

  • Industrial control system design and development experience (5+ years)
  • PLC programming (ST, LD, etc.) and practical experience with robotics or MHE control
  • Project management experience with responsibility for schedule, scope, and cost
  • Vendor management and technical negotiation experience
  • Japanese and English communication skills (verbal and written) at business level
