About the role

Senior Financial Analyst responsible for worldwide planning and analysis for Amazon Advertising, focusing on forecasting, financial controllership, and partnership with product, finance, and business teams for Sponsored Products and Sponsored Brands.

Responsibilities

  • Own end-to-end forecasting processes for Sponsored Products and Sponsored Brands, identify variance drivers, and propose solutions to improve mechanisms and controllership
  • Build and maintain financial models and reports using Cognos and other financial systems, ensure accuracy through audits, and investigate data discrepancies to identify root causes and fixes
  • Conduct complex variance analysis against prior guidance, plan, and prior year results, and translate data into insights and recommendations for senior finance and business leaders
  • Partner with Central FP&A, Advertising product teams, and business stakeholders to support planning cycles including guidance, Monthly Financial Review, Operating Plan 1, and Operating Plan 2
  • Actively leverage and advance AI integration and automation using Amazon's AI tools within existing processes
  • Respond to senior leadership requests with immediate ownership, synthesize information quickly, and communicate findings to drive data-driven decision making
  • Spend time building forecast models, conducting variance analysis, and producing Cognos reports; collaborate with business and finance partners to resolve questions and explain drivers
  • Support the Sponsored Products and Brands FP&A team in worldwide forecasting and reporting, influencing investment decisions and business direction

Qualifications

  • 3+ years of finance, accounting, or related analytical field experience
  • Bachelor's degree in business, finance, accounting, tax, economics, or related analytical field
