About the role

Work as a Workplace Health & Safety Specialist (WHSS) at Amazon, driving safety program excellence, associate advocacy, and a proactive safety culture across sites. Role emphasizes data-driven safety programs, audits, incident investigations, training, and collaboration with frontline associates and leadership.

Responsibilities

  • Lead daily safety audits, incident investigations, and risk assessments
  • Drive comprehensive safety programs with data-driven strategies
  • Deliver safety training to associates
  • Champion continuous improvement initiatives to enhance workplace safety and efficiency
  • Advocate for associate wellbeing and build partnerships across the organization
  • Translate safety data into narratives to influence safety initiatives
  • Maintain safety operations across sites, including emergency response support
  • Build relationships with frontline staff and leadership to drive behavioral changes
  • Lift up to 49 pounds; stand/walk up to 12 hours; work in variable temperatures and noisy environments
  • Assist with emergency care delivery and response at the site

Qualifications

  • High school or equivalent
  • A minimum of 1 year in an Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) related field OR a Bachelor’s degree in an EHS-related field OR 6 months experience in a safety-related role within Amazon
  • Knowledge of OSHA regulations specifically 29 CFR 1910
  • Experience using Microsoft Word and Excel
  • Experience maintaining confidentiality in workplace matters
  • Preferred: Bachelor’s degree or higher in a safety-related field; strong communication and leadership skills; experience in emergency response and First Aid/CPR; workers compensation experience
