About the role

Senior Engineer leading the installation, commissioning, and startup of material handling and automation equipment for new and retrofit site launches in Japan, driving safety, quality, reliability, and cost optimization while collaborating with global teams and suppliers.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the installation of material handling and various automated equipment, commissioning tests and acceptance inspection processes for both new site launch and legacy site retrofit/expansion.
  • Resolve conflicts after considering overall optimization while building trusting relationships with Amazon internal stakeholders and external vendors, and lead the project in a short period of time with high quality and low cost.
  • Collaborate with global engineering teams to introduce new safety and quality management processes or standards to Japan, and propose and deploy the best practices in Japan to global teams.
  • Dive deep on technical details to identify and solve the technical problems and to build a mechanism or standard that leads to recurrence prevention.
  • Assist in providing equipment specifications and technical support to procurement and other business partners for best value and competition.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of industrial engineer, operations engineer, manufacturing engineer, or project engineer in a manufacturing environment experience
  • Bachelor's degree
