About the role

The Data Center Engineering Operations Technician (EOT) is responsible for delivery of best practice systems and problem resolution on all data center electrical and mechanical infrastructure within a specified location, reporting to the Data Center Engineering Operations Manager.

Responsibilities

  • Setting and maintaining the highest standards for safety and promoting a world-class safety culture in all operational procedures
  • Driving continuous improvement through standardization of procedures and policies while meeting metrics
  • Ensuring 100% up-time for customer supporting infrastructure
  • Collaborating with internal & external stakeholders to deliver operational excellence for AWS customers
  • Planning and executing preventive maintenance of site-critical facility infrastructure per AWS procedures
  • Monitoring and supervising facilities (via BMS, PMS, walkthroughs, etc.)
  • Participating in build-out and retrofit delivery of Data Center infrastructure
  • Maintaining organizational capability to respond to potential customer-impacting events on electrical or mechanical infrastructure
  • Reviewing incident reports, documenting trend summaries, and providing updates and recommended actions to management
  • Drafting, updating and maintaining method statements, SOPs, emergency procedures, preventive maintenance programs, and all technical documentation pertaining to DCEO

Qualifications

  • High school or equivalent diploma
  • Knowledge of key electrical competencies and theory

Skills

Required:Electrical fundamentals
Nice to have:Mechanical systems knowledge
