About the role

SDE II position on the Display Protocols team within AWS, building a latency-optimized, secure, scalable streaming infrastructure for Amazon WorkSpaces Personal and Applications. Own features end-to-end, ship to enterprise and ISV customers, and contribute to architectural decisions and operational excellence.

Responsibilities

  • Design and build features for cloud desktop and interactive streaming platform end-to-end, from scoping through production
  • Write clean, maintainable code that runs at scale; optimize real-time streaming paths for latency and reliability
  • Operate what you ship (including on-call)
  • Work across multiple AWS services to deliver secure, highly available infrastructure
  • Dive into performance profiling, benchmarking, bottleneck identification
  • Participate in code reviews and maintain engineering standards; contribute to operational excellence
  • Mentor other engineers and help scale the team and processes
  • Evaluate and decide on new approaches to keep streaming platform best-in-class
  • Balance long-term roadmap work with responding to customer issues and new customer needs
  • Collaborate with engineers, product managers, and partner teams across AWS (networking, security)
  • Engage in areas like mentoring or shaping team direction as needed

Qualifications

  • Several years of non-internship professional software development experience
  • 2+ years of non-internship design or architecture experience (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems
  • Experience programming with at least one software programming language
