About the role

Software Development Manager leading a team of engineers to build AI-augmented accounting automation and financial record keeping systems at scale for Amazon’s digital businesses, defining product roadmaps, technical vision, and cross-functional collaboration.

Responsibilities

  • Define and manage a product roadmap to build specialized AI tools to manage accounting automation for Amazon.
  • Define and drive the technical vision and architectural direction for financial record keeping systems that support Amazon's digital businesses at scale.
  • Lead and grow an inclusive team of software development engineers — recruit top talent, coach and develop engineers at multiple levels, and create an environment where the team delivers successfully and sustainably.
  • Contribute to system design discussions, evaluate tradeoffs across scalability, maintainability, and performance, and guide your team through deep-dive troubleshooting and root-cause analysis of complex issues.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional partners — including product management, peer engineering teams, and business stakeholders — to align priorities, resolve dependencies, and deliver cohesive solutions.
  • Establish operational excellence practices, publish meaningful metrics, and build mechanisms that improve software quality, reduce repeated work, and enhance the customer experience over time.

Qualifications

  • 3+ years of engineering team management experience
  • 3+ years of working directly within engineering teams experience
  • 3+ years of designing or architecting (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience
  • 3+ years of leading the definition and development of multi tier web services experience
  • Knowledge of engineering practices and patterns for the full software/hardware/networks development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, certification, and livesite operations
  • Experience partnering with product or program management teams
