About the role

Software Development Engineer II on the Everyday Essentials (EE) Experiences team, focusing on Progressive Discovery and Monetization (PDM). AI-first engineering approach to build end-to-end customer experiences for discovering and purchasing everyday essentials, with opportunities to prototype and ship new ideas globally.

Responsibilities

  • Design, build, and own software end to end - working backwards from the customer through design, code, testing, deployment, and operations.
  • Take on ambiguous problems where the goal is clear but the path is not, bring clarity, and deliver simple solutions to hard problems.
  • Partner closely with scientists, product managers, and designers to turn customer problems into products that ship worldwide.
  • Use AI tools and modern engineering practices to build faster and at a higher bar of quality, and help the team level up how it uses them.
  • Own operational excellence for what you build - monitor it, respond when issues arise, and keep improving the customer and partner experience.
  • Raise the technical bar through code reviews, mentoring, and hiring for the best talent.

Qualifications

  • 3+ years of non-internship professional software development experience
  • 2+ years of non-internship design or architecture (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience
  • Experience programming with at least one software programming language
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent
