About the role

Transportation Associate role in Amazon's transportation operations focusing on trailer yard moves, yard coordination, audits, and CDL-related training with potential for CDL sponsorship and on-site / field operations.

Responsibilities

  • Make safety a priority by adhering to company rules and regulations.
  • Perform various functions within the yard, support site operations teams, internal transportation field teams, and external carriers to ensure trailers arrive/depart on time with zero defects.
  • Be professionally trained to operate Commercial Motor Vehicles (CMVs) on non-public roads or in yard to move trailers to/from dock and parking locations.
  • Learn DOT regulations and comply with company policies and procedures.
  • Complete driver vehicle inspection reports on equipment and notify managers of maintenance or delivery issues.
  • Follow hostler and delivery schedules, track and report working hours and breaks in compliance with Amazon policy and regulations.
  • Support the business by serving as a peer trainer and/or working at nearby site locations within the area.
  • Drive, maneuver, and load/unload a truck using approved equipment (pallet jack, etc.).
  • Possibility to earn CDL and/or receive training and sponsorship depending on business need.

Qualifications

  • Hold a valid and active driver’s license.
  • High School or equivalent diploma.
  • Must be 21 years or older.
  • Ability to lift up to 49 pounds, stand/walk up to 12 hours, and frequently push/pull/squat/bend/reach.
  • Work 40 hours/week with overtime as required.
  • Flexible schedule including weekends, nights, and holidays.
  • English proficiency per DOT requirements.
