About the role

The Data Center Engineering Operations Technician (EOT) delivers best-practice systems and resolves issues across data center electrical and mechanical infrastructure (UPS, MV electrical systems, generators, cooling, etc.) in a specific location. This hands-on role involves frequent site interventions, critical switching, troubleshooting, and working with M&E infrastructure (diesel generators, switchgear, UPS, PDU, AHU, fire detection, BMS/PMS). Reports to the Data Center Engineering Operations Manager.

Responsibilities

  • Setting and maintaining the highest standards for safety and promoting a world-class safety culture in operational procedures
  • Driving continuous improvement through standardization of procedures and policies, delivering performance against metrics
  • Enabling 100% up-time on customer supporting infrastructure
  • Collaborating with internal & external stakeholders to deliver operational excellence for AWS customers
  • Ensuring preventive maintenance of site-critical facility infrastructure is planned and executed per AWS procedures
  • In charge of facility monitoring & supervision (via BMS, PMS, walkthrough, etc.)
  • Participation in build-out and retrofit delivery of Data Center infrastructure
  • Ensuring organizational capability to react to customer-impacting events on electrical or mechanical components
  • Reviewing incident reports, documenting trends, providing updates and recommended actions to management
  • Drafting, updating & maintaining method statements, SOPs, emergency response procedures, preventive maintenance programs, and all technical documentation pertaining to DCEO

Qualifications

  • High school or equivalent diploma
  • Knowledge of key electrical competencies and theory
