About the role
WW R&R is focused on zero-cost returns, zero waste, and zero defects by developing scalable real-time systems and driving the Circular Economy for Amazon through returns, recommerce, and rentals. The role involves designing, developing, documenting, and supporting massively scalable, distributed real-time systems using C++, Java and related technologies, with leadership responsibilities.
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, document and support massively scalable, distributed real time systems.
- Apply object-oriented design patterns and distributed databases to meet evolving business requirements.
- Mentor other engineers, drive best practices, and lead continuous improvements in engineering excellence.
- Contribute to initiatives to support rapid evolution and growth of WW R&R systems.
Qualifications
- 3+ years of non-internship professional software development experience
- 2+ years of non-internship design or architecture (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience
- Experience programming with at least one software programming language
