About the role

Amazon’s TOM Automation Implementation and Execution (TAI-E) team seeks Technicians to maintain and troubleshoot yard systems and support process validation for TOM gate and yard operations, with opportunities to innovate automated solutions in transportation operations.

Responsibilities

  • Align with the operations team to understand tools and systems not working correctly and remedy as appropriate
  • Take ownership of all existing systems and technology that are part of TOM gate and yard operations as well as approved systems not yet implemented
  • Provide tech support on tools such as ALPR and other Gate and Yard Technologies
  • Monitor processes through systems and technology to identify deviation from standard work
  • Pilot test updates to existing tools and implement new hardware, software, cameras, and computer instrumentation
  • Deep dive and identify process improvement opportunities in yard and gate technology to improve TOM efficiency and reduce process time
  • Manage and communicate any system performance issues
  • Travel flexibility up to 50% within a 50-mile radius from home location
  • Move up to 49lbs and stand/walk for 10-12 hours per shift, shifts up to 12 hours (on-site 80% in yard possible)

Qualifications

  • High school or equivalent diploma
  • 2+ years of computer hardware experience (troubleshooting and repairing)
  • 1+ years of corporate setting Windows, Mac or Linux OS support
