About the role

AWS Infrastructure Services designs, plans, delivers, and operates AWS global infrastructure, supporting data centers, servers, networking, power, and cooling to keep the cloud running. The Network Deployment Technician will build and maintain cloud computing infrastructure across data center and colocation sites in the Americas, collaborating with software, hardware, network engineers, and operations to deliver safe, scalable network capacity at low cost.

Responsibilities

  • Installation of routers, switches and DWDM hardware.
  • Assist in troubleshooting fiber optic and copper cabling.
  • Create colocation remote hand requests for new capacity installations.
  • Support project leads to deliver network capacity projects.
  • Help to resolve data center and facility issues.
  • Support small to mid-size network deployment projects.
  • Building relationships with internal and partner teams.
  • Participate in site audits to ensure safety and quality meets AWS standards.
  • Providing status updates to stakeholders via internal tools.

Qualifications

  • 2+ years of computer hardware troubleshooting and repair experience
  • 1+ years of computer networking experience
  • High school or equivalent diploma
  • Can lift and rack equipment up to 40 pounds
