About the role

We build software applications that enable global financial transactions for Amazon, owning end-to-end payment systems and delivering features with ownership from design to production. The role emphasizes working with product managers and stakeholders, incremental shipping, and leveraging AI-assisted development tools within the AI-Driven Development Lifecycle.

Responsibilities

  • Own features and components of our payment systems end-to-end.
  • Design the solution and make tradeoffs; code independently with guidance from senior/principal engineers when needed.
  • Work directly with product managers and business stakeholders to understand needs and desired outcomes.
  • Ship incrementally with staged rollout and measurement.
  • Reduce operational load by turning recurring manual interventions into code fixes or self-healing mechanisms.
  • Leave the system maintainable and extensible with clear documentation and design choices.
  • Mentor engineers, participate in code reviews, and help new teammates become productive.
  • Build with agentic AI across the development lifecycle: exploring systems, drafting designs, generating/testing code, triaging production issues, and automating operational tasks.

Qualifications

  • 3+ years of non-internship professional software development experience
  • 2+ years of non-internship design or architecture experience
  • 1+ years of software development engineer or related occupational experience
  • 1+ years designing and developing large-scale, multi-tiered or distributed software applications using C#, C++, Java, or Perl
  • 1+ years of Object Oriented Design experience
  • Bachelor's degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or related field
  • Experience programming with at least one software programming language
