About the role
Regional Environmental Engineer (REE) responsible for environmental compliance at AWS data centers in Virginia, developing standards and policies, conducting audits, and guiding teams in implementing Amazon environmental standards.
Responsibilities
- Manage and oversee compliance with environmental regulations and Amazon policy
- Drive an environmentally responsible culture within the organization
- Ensure work performed by contractors, consultants, and employees is completed in accordance with Amazon standards
- Develop environmental metrics to measure, monitor and forecast performance
- Conduct thorough and accurate environmental audits for continuous improvement
- Prioritize and manage multiple technically complex assignments concurrently
- Represent Amazon at appropriate levels with governmental agencies and throughout the company
- Build collaborative relationships with various stakeholders to ensure risks are identified early and managed appropriately
- Assist in time-critical report submission to various governmental agencies
- Complete thorough and accurate environmental incident investigations and associated regulatory reports and develop appropriate corrective action
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field
- 7+ years of experience in environmental compliance
- Experience developing and implementing environmental compliance programs including regulated waste, water, and air regulations in accordance with applicable laws
- 5+ years of experience with applicable federal and state air quality regulations, including Clean Air Act programs such as Title V, NSPS, and NESHAP
- 5+ years of experience calculating emissions and preparing technical reports, compliance documentation, and emissions inventories
