About the role

Software Development Engineer II on the AWS Security SecDevOps team responsible for shaping internal security tooling at scale within AWS Security. Focused on delivering features across full development lifecycle to improve security response efficiency and builder experience, with collaboration across customers and partner teams and use of AWS services, React/TypeScript, Java/Python/SQL.

Responsibilities

  • Design and deliver software features across the full development lifecycle, from requirements through implementation, testing, deployment, and operations, for security response systems.
  • Participate in code reviews and provide feedback to teammates while coaching others on maintainable code.
  • Identify and resolve root causes of operational issues and implement permanent fixes.
  • Collaborate with customers, other technical teams, and stakeholders to translate requirements into technical solutions.
  • Document software and its operation, and train new team members.
  • Review operational health of detection and response systems; design and implement features across front end, back end and data warehousing.
  • Mentor teammates and write documentation to help others ramp up quickly.

Qualifications

  • 3+ years of non-internship professional software development experience
  • 3+ years of non-internship design or architecture (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience
  • 3+ years of full stack development experience
