About the role
Edge Platform team delivers software-defined, automated, and incrementally scalable network infrastructure to improve the reliability of Amazon’s global network for fulfillment centers and transportation sites. The Network Development Engineer will shape technical strategy, partner with Software/Operations/Engineering teams, and deliver scalable, automated solutions to enhance availability and reduce operational impact.
Responsibilities
- Identifying, developing, and delivering technical solutions that improve the availability of our network technologies.
- Partner with peer teams to collectively understand the customer problems and find technological solutions utilizing wired networking technologies.
- Define and meter the availability of our existing and future network solutions, ensuring they meet or exceed the needs of our customers.
- Identify and deliver solutions that reduce operational impact to customers and enable them with scalable, resilient, and cost optimized services.
- Dive Deep on complex problems that identify root causes of our customer impacts, developing and delivering corrective actions.
- Innovate and automate infrastructure testing, deployment, operations, and life-cycle management
- Defining the strategy for future team processes, tools, and , which improve how we maintain and manage them effectively, efficiently, and safely.
- Be a part of Global organization that provides 24x7 escalation service on shift rotation basis. Some night and weekend coverage may be required.
- Effectively contribute to hiring and developing top talent at Amazon
Qualifications
- 1+ years of automation scripting using Python, Bash, Shell and/or Perl experience
- 4+ years experience in a network focused hands-on technical role working with IP routing protocols/technologies and platforms in large scale data center and/or WAN network environments
- 4+ years experience developing engineering, deployment, or operations mechanisms to support IP network and/or networking systems
