About the role

Area Manager for Books production in Brazil responsible for leading a floor-based team in a production environment (printing to ship-ready packaging), focusing on safety, quality, customer experience, and productivity. Direct accountability for daily performance and end-to-end flow within Print on Demand operations.

Responsibilities

  • Own the safety, quality, and productivity of your assigned production area, driving daily performance against targets.
  • Lead, coach, and develop a team of hourly associates, fostering a culture of accountability and continuous learning.
  • Analyze production forecasts and determine daily staffing and throughput requirements to meet overall site goals.
  • Partner with other Area Managers to balance workload across areas, ensuring smooth end-to-end flow.
  • Support all safety programs and regulatory compliance to guarantee a safe working environment for every associate.
  • Proactively identify and lead process improvement initiatives using Lean tools and root cause analysis.
  • Monitor machine performance, quality metrics (DPMO, waste rates), and escalate equipment issues to maintenance and engineering.
  • Contribute to launch readiness activities including equipment qualification, training deployment, and SOP development.

Qualifications

  • Work a flexible schedule/shift/work area, including weekends, nights, and/or holidays.
  • Can push and pull wheeled dollies loaded with products up to 100 pounds during shifts.
  • Experience in English-language communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Experience managing people.
  • Bachelor's degree, or Advanced technical degree
