About the role

Senior specialist role in Amazon Japan’s Dynamic Transportation Team focused on developing and optimizing short- to long-term transportation plans (3 months to 3 years) using internal tools and data analytics to enhance the JP Transportation network and support Amazon’s large-scale logistics operations.

Responsibilities

  • Strategic Planning & Network Optimization: Develop and support comprehensive transportation strategies across 3 months to 3 years and present recommendations to leadership; Optimize network processes focusing on delivery performance, speed, and cost efficiency
  • Cross-functional collaboration: Collaborate with multiple internal teams to create integrated transportation solutions; Work with global teams to identify and implement best practices and tools; collaborate with key stakeholder relationships to ensure alignment with business objectives
  • KPI Analytics & Performance Management: Conduct scenario-based analysis using simulation tools; Develop and maintain performance metrics and reporting frameworks; Utilize data management systems (SQL, Python, Excel) to track and analyze operational metrics
  • Process Innovation: Design and support implementation of new processes to replace existing workflows; Benchmark performance against global standards and adapt best practices for the Japanese market

Qualifications

  • 3+ years of program or project management experience
  • 3+ years of working cross functionally with tech and non-tech teams experience
  • 3+ years of defining and implementing process improvement initiatives using data and metrics experience
  • Bachelor's degree
  • Knowledge of Excel (Pivot Tables, VLookUps) at an advanced level and SQL
  • Speak, write and read fluently in English
