About the role

Software engineer role focused on the SDN dataplane stack powering EC2 Nitro networking, with emphasis on performance optimization, robustness, and collaboration across cross-functional teams to support Machine Learning workloads and other cloud applications.

Responsibilities

  • Design, scoping, implementation, and integration testing of performance optimizations and dataplane features that run on the EC2 Nitro System that power Machine Learning workloads.
  • Set high standards for development processes, tools, and automation to enhance team productivity and quality.
  • Influence best engineering practices on design and coding.
  • Identify business problems and opportunities, and advocate for technical solutions that influence the technical roadmap for the team.
  • Mentor junior engineers with scoping, design, and developing scalable and maintainable code.
  • Collaborate with Senior/Principal Engineers, Product Managers, Sr TPMs, and cross-functional teams to define requirements, system architectures, and implement robust and scalable solutions.

Qualifications

  • 3+ years of non-internship professional software development experience
  • 2+ years of non-internship design or architecture (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience
  • Bachelor's degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related field
  • Experience programming with at least one software programming language

Nice to have:Embedded development in C/C++Low-level driversSystem performance, memory management, and parallel computing principles
