About the role

Senior Engineer to lead installation, commissioning and operational readiness of material handling and automation equipment for new and retrofit sites in Japan, driving safety, quality, reliability and cost optimization while coordinating with global engineering teams and external partners.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the installation of material handling and various automated equipment, commissioning tests and acceptance inspection processes for both new site launch and legacy site retrofit/expansion.
  • Resolve conflicts after considering overall optimization while building trusting relationships with Amazon internal stakeholders and external vendors, and lead the project in a short period of time with high quality and low cost.
  • Collaborate with global engineering teams to introduce new safety and quality management processes or standards to Japan, and propose and deploy the best practices in Japan to global teams.
  • Dive deep on technical details to identify and solve the technical problems and to build a mechanism or standard that leads to recurrence prevention.
  • Assist in providing equipment specifications and technical support to procurement and other business partners for best value and competition.

Qualifications

  • 大学の学士 または工学の修士号
  • 5+ years of technical leadership and project management experience in large scale engineering projects such as construction projects, or equivalent level of knowledge of equipment (MHE, automation, production, etc.)
  • Experience in engaging with internal cross-functional teams and coordinating external partners
  • MS Office (Word, Excel, Power Point) および CAD のオペレーションスキル
  • 日本語と英語の口頭および書面によるビジネスレベルのコミュニケーション能力
  • University Degree, B.S. or Master Degree in Engineering (or science/technology)
  • 5+ years of technical leadership and project management experience in large scale engineering projects such as construction projects, or equivalent level of knowledge of equipment (MHE, automation, production, etc.)
  • Experience in engaging with internal cross-functional teams and coordinating external partners
  • Experience using MS Office (Word, Excel, Power Point) and CAD.
  • Verbal and written communication skills in both Japanese and English (Business-Level).
