About the role

Senior Engineer responsible for leading the launch, operation, and continuous improvement of material handling and automated equipment at new and existing sites in Japan, coordinating with global engineering teams and vendors to maximize safety, quality, and efficiency while controlling costs.

Responsibilities

  • - Lead installation, commissioning tests, and acceptance processes for material handling and automated equipment for new site launches and retrofit/expansion of existing sites.
  • - Resolve technical conflicts and optimize safety, schedule, quality, and cost by building trusted relationships with internal stakeholders and external vendors.
  • - Collaborate with global engineering teams to implement safety and quality management processes or standards in Japan and standardize best practices globally.
  • - Deep-dive into technical issues to identify root causes and establish mechanisms or standards to prevent recurrence.
  • - Provide equipment specifications and technical support to procurement and other business partners to achieve best value and competitive outcomes.

Qualifications

  • - University degree (BS) or Master in Engineering or related field
  • - 5+ years of technical leadership and project management experience on large-scale engineering projects (construction or equivalent knowledge of equipment such as MHE, automation, production)
  • - Experience coordinating internal cross-functional teams and external partners
  • - Proficiency in MS Office and CAD
  • - Business-level Japanese and English (spoken and written)
