About the role
AWS Infrastructure Services designs, plans, delivers, and operates AWS global infrastructure, including data centers, servers, storage, networking, power, and cooling. The Data Center Project Engineer works on-site with construction management to support fast, high-quality delivery of data center construction, coordinating with vendors and internal teams to ensure safety, quality, and alignment with milestones.
Responsibilities
- Establishing communication and coordination across a data center region’s general contractors, stakeholders, and internal teams.
- Develop and maintain a tracking system for design changes, RFIs, and change orders with regional leadership dashboards and due-date tracking.
- Onboarding new vendors for badging and orientation.
- Updating project management software with milestone dates, correspondence, and documents.
- Monitor delivery of owner furnished material to site.
- Compiling and storing construction data from vendors.
- Managing checklists including substantial completion, safety, and quality.
Qualifications
- 3+ years of vendor management experience
- 3+ years of Microsoft Office including Outlook, Word, and Excel experience
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field
- Experience in a data center or other critical environment
- Experience in data center engineering or operations
- Experience with Microsoft Office including Outlook, Word, and Excel
