About the role

Senior geotechnical engineer responsible for front-end geotechnical engineering for new owned and leased data center site developments, leading due diligence, design-ready geotechnical work, and collaboration with Real Estate, Risk and Resiliency, Environmental, Pre-Construction, and partner teams to implement global design strategy.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders during due diligence and pre-design phases to oversee the process and ensure design requirements are considered.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to gather data to ensure prerequisites for start of design stage are met.
  • Lead due diligence and pre-design geotechnical investigations, manage internal partners and external vendor consultants, and ensure design-ready geotechnical deliverables are completed and handed over for design execution.
  • Rollout strategy of new data center design types and intercepts that impact geotechnical investigations and engineering.
  • Provide engineering design decisions to partner teams for strategic planning and region selection.
  • Collaborate with other DCE teams developing new data center infrastructure products and design execution disciplines to assess deployment for site development projects.
  • Ability to work on concurrent projects in multiple geographical regions.
  • Escalate issues as required and communicate clearly with a wide range of technical abilities and leadership levels.

Qualifications

  • 6+ years of industrial or commercial engineering in mission critical facilities including data centers, power generation, or oil and gas facilities experience
  • 10+ years of professional experience in geotechnical site characterization, design and construction, and project management.
