About the role

Software Engineer for Amazon Fulfillment Technologies (AFT) Outbound/Flow, focusing on building and operating high-scale, event-driven backend services for shipment data and outbound fulfillment processes. Role emphasizes real-time systems, platform ownership, and collaboration with multiple teams to optimize delivery and operational excellence.

Responsibilities

  • Own end-to-end delivery of distributed services (SNS/SQS, AWS Lambda) that process and publish shipment events consumed across Amazon — from design through multi-region rollout (NA, EU, FE) and production operations.
  • Lead complex service and data migrations, consolidating downstream consumers onto shared platform services with minimal disruption to dependent teams.
  • Make integration and data-sharing decisions for partner teams — evaluating new event subscriptions for scalability, security, and correct scope.
  • Raise the operational excellence bar for your services: monitoring, alarming, on-call, and reducing systemic toil.
  • Navigate ambiguity to scope and sequence work, influence technical direction, and unblock dependencies across teams.

Qualifications

  • 3+ years of non-internship professional software development experience
  • 2+ years of non-internship design or architecture (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience
  • Experience programming with at least one software programming language
