Senior Software Development Engineer in Artificial Intelligence Security (AISec) at Amazon, focusing on building scalable security services, defining best practices for SDLC, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver secure AI/ML solutions across Amazon services.

Responsibilities

  • Building a massively scalable global security service that is core to all Amazon services.
  • Owning the definition of best practices for the software development lifecycle used by junior engineers, including its design, implementation, testing, and operational characteristics.
  • Working as part of cross-functional teams to develop secure solutions for our customers.
  • Owning the technology stack for one of the most secure and reliable services in all of Amazon.
  • Serve as a technical lead on cross-functional projects.
  • Ensure the quality of architecture and design of systems.
  • Functionally decompose complex problems into simple, straight-forward solutions.
  • Fully and completely understand system interdependencies and limitations.
  • Possess expert knowledge in performance, scalability, enterprise system architecture, and engineering best practices.
  • Leverage knowledge of internal and industry prior art in design decisions.
  • Effectively research and benchmark Amazon technology against other competing systems in the industry.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of non-internship professional software development experience
  • 5+ years of programming with at least one software programming language experience
  • 5+ years of leading design or architecture (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience
  • Experience as a mentor, tech lead or leading an engineering team
