About the role
AWS Data Center Project Engineer responsible for on-site construction support, coordinating with general contractors and internal teams to ensure timely, safe, and cost-effective data center delivery.
Works with Design/Construction Delivery Center (DCCD) to manage RFIs, changes, vendor onboarding, and document control across data center regions.
Responsibilities
- Establishing communication and coordination across a data center region’s general contractors, stakeholders, and internal teams.
- Develop and maintain a tracking system for design changes, RFIs, and change orders and dashboard for regional leadership review.
- Onboarding new vendors for badging and orientation.
- Updating project management software with milestone dates, correspondence, and documents.
- Monitor delivery of owner furnished material to site.
- Compiling and storing construction data from vendors.
- Managing checklists including substantial completion checks, safety, and quality.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field
- Experience in vendor management
- Experience in a data center or other critical environment
- Experience with Microsoft Office including Outlook, Word, and Excel
- 3+ years of data center or mission critical facilities experience
- Experience in construction or project management
