About the role

Leads a two-tiered engineering team within Amazon's 24/7/365 Operations Management Center (OMC), delivering infrastructure services across Networking, Audio-Visual (AV), and Print, while owning follow-the-sun coverage and driving operational improvements and people development.

Responsibilities

  • Operational Leadership & Service Delivery: keep 24/7 operation healthy, meet SLAs, audit queues and engineers' work, manage follow-the-sun coverage and on-call rotation, handle escalations, balance trade-offs.
  • Operational Inspection & Continuous Improvement: establish inspection mechanisms, drive corrective actions, prioritize root-cause analysis, optimize workflows and best practices.
  • People Management & Talent Development: hire and onboard engineers, set performance expectations, conduct 1:1s, calibrate and promote, address underperformance, foster inclusive team culture across time zones.
  • Stakeholder Partnership & Communication: collaborate with Service Managers/Owners and IT Services, communicate mission and priorities, document decisions and COE write-ups.
  • Technical Leadership: stay technically close to Networking, AV, and Print, guide design decisions and implement/manage solutions for operational problems.

Qualifications

  • 2+ years of leading technology teams as an information technology operations manager experience, or Bachelor's degree or equivalent
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent, or 4+ years of professional or military experience
  • Knowledge of networking protocols such as HTTP(S), DNS, and TCP/IP
  • 2+ years of Windows Server technologies: AD, DFS, Print Services, SCCM experience
  • Experience in technical support
