About the role

Software development role in Amazon’s Global Transportation Tech Services (GTTS) building and maintaining the software foundation of Amazon’s outbound transportation network, including end-to-end delivery of features, data pipelines, and integration with AWS, big data, optimization, ML, and GenAI.

Responsibilities

  • Working independently to own end-to-end delivery (from design through release) of features and medium-sized projects
  • Working with AWS technologies such as Lambda, ECS Fargate, API Gateway, RDS, DynamoDB, EMR
  • building customer-facing applications and APIs
  • Building data pipelines using Spark + Scala that process Tb of data per day
  • Working with customers to understand the business context of new features
  • Contributing to design reviews and code reviews
  • Participating in operational support for our products by joining a regular on-call rotation
  • Driving reliability and process improvements
  • Mentoring SDE-I engineers and helping them grow technically
  • Participating in regular hackathons to bring new ideas to GTTS

Qualifications

  • Experience (non-internship) in professional software development
  • Experience building complex software systems that have been successfully delivered to customers
  • Experience programming with at least one modern language such as Java, C++, or C# including object-oriented design, or experience in development in the last 3 years
  • Experience with distributed, multi-tiered systems, algorithms, and relational databases
  • Experience in the full secure software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations
  • Experience in managing and troublshooting network, or experience troubleshooting and debugging technical systems and experience that includes strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and effective communication abilities
