About the role
AWS Security is seeking an Application Security Engineer to validate that services, applications, and websites meet high security standards. Responsibilities include analyzing security of applications, addressing issues, building security automation, and responding to new threats, with opportunities for mentoring and security leadership across AWS.
Responsibilities
- Application security reviews (including architecture reviews, threat modeling, code reviews and security testing)
- Mobile security reviews
- Projects and research work as needed
- Security training and outreach to internal development teams
- Security guidance and documentation
- Security workflow automation
- Security metrics delivery and process improvements
- Assistance with recruiting activities and administrative work
Qualifications
- 3+ years of non-internship work across at least 5 of the following security domains: application security frameworks, security code reviews, incident response, security infrastructure, penetration testing, mobile security, cloud security, AI security, or identity and access controls experience
- Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent
- Experience in scripting, programming, and security code reviewing in a common programming language (non-internship)
- Knowledge of commonly found software security vulnerabilities (like OWASP top 10) and remediation techniques
