About the role
Operations Engineer role on the AMZL Operations Integration Engineering (OIE) team, bridging engineering innovation and field operations to plan, pilot, launch, and adopt new automation technologies and systems across Amazon’s last‑mile network. Travel ~80% to sites across North America to support installations, testing, launches, and post‑launch performance monitoring.
Responsibilities
- Own the operational integration of new automation equipment and systems across Amazon’s last-mile logistics network.
- Pilot Planning: partner with Innovation & Design, Process Engineering, and Safety teams to develop operational frameworks for pilots, build training curricula, define success criteria and KPIs, support SAT/FAT, assist with site selection inputs, and create operational standards for interaction with new technology.
- Operational Readiness & Expansion: lead on-the-ground readiness for automation programs expanding across the network; develop and deliver pre-launch training, provide on-site support during launches, track post-launch performance against success criteria, coordinate handoff to ACES and site ownership, identify and escalate operational risks, adoption gaps, and process deficiencies.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree
- Experience leading cross-functional teams across engineering, operations, and field execution through launch readiness and go-live phases
- Experience with retrofits, launches, or automation deployments
- Experience working with Material handling equipment (MHE)
