About the role
Amazon Leo is an initiative to launch a constellation of Low Earth Orbit satellites that will provide low-latency, high-speed broadband network connectivity. The Leo Security team owns the security of product and operations of Amazon Leo end-to-end, providing infrastructure and mechanisms to secure the satellite constellation and customer data. The role combines long-term security leadership with rapid threat response in a start-up like environment backed by Amazon.
Responsibilities

- Set vision, define strategy and roadmap and drive the execution of security initiatives
- Recruiting
- Process Improvement
- Work across Amazon Security and Project Kuiper organizations to partner on solutions
- Lead a team of engineers and TPMs, identify trends in findings, work with partners to remove bug classes at source
- Influence security strategy of partner teams to optimize security outcomes for customers
- Participate in hiring, development, training, and team leadership
- Own a part of the team and grow ownership and role
Qualifications
- 5+ years of managing and developing teams experience
- 5+ years of progressive work within a software security team or related operating environment experience
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or a related field
- Knowledge of information security technologies such as security design review, threat modeling, risk analysis, and software testing techniques
- Experience in managing and developing teams
- Experience in progressive work within a software security team or related operating environment
- Experience applying threat modeling or other risk identification techniques or equivalent
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in Security Engineering management
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in managing or leading engineering teams
- Strong verbal and written communications skills
