About the role
AWS Infrastructure Services designs, delivers, and operates AWS global infrastructure including data centers, servers, storage, networking, power, and cooling. The Data Center Technician (DCO) role supports internal customers, troubleshoots advanced hardware, maintains reliability, participates in projects to improve operational efficiency, and may assist in hiring processes. The position is based in Mumbai, India and involves rotating shifts, hands-on hardware work, and collaboration with global technical teams.
Responsibilities
- Troubleshoot technical issues on advanced hardware, including servers, storage, and networking devices, on a 24/7 basis
- Maintain a high level of system reliability and availability
- Participate in projects to enhance operational efficiencies and share knowledge with global technical experts
- Share knowledge and help train less technical staff on best practices related to service owner issues
- Contribute towards building a great team by participating in Amazon hiring process/candidate interviews
- Installation and configurations on data center servers and network systems
- Installation, troubleshooting and replacement of internal and external hardware parts of servers and network devices
- Work within a ticket-based environment and on systematic problem resolution
- Operate on a rotational shift-based schedule to maintain high system reliability
- Collaborate with internal teams and contribute to innovative projects to improve DC work environment and efficiencies
- Physically active role requiring onsite presence
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field
- Experience with computer hardware troubleshooting and repair
