About the role

AWS Lambda runtimes open-source SDE in Dublin working on Lambda's Runtimes across multiple languages, including Python, NodeJS, Java, .NET, Ruby, Go, and Rust. Responsibilities include implementing, documenting, applying security updates, and supporting libraries that define how developers write and run code in Lambda, while engaging with upstream open-source communities and balancing patching with customer impact.

Responsibilities

  • Own implementation, documentation, security updates, and supporting libraries that define how developers write and run code across multiple languages in Lambda.
  • Engage with upstream open-source communities to align Runtimes with language advancements.
  • Simplify Runtime operations for efficiency and scalability, balancing security patching urgency against customer disruption risk.

Qualifications

  • Experience (non-internship) in professional software development
  • Experience designing or architecting (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems
  • Experience designing or architecting (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems, or experience debugging, profiling, and implementing best software engineering practices in large-scale systems
  • Experience with open source tools and resources
  • Strong programming skills in at least two of the following: Java, Python, Node.js, Go, Rust
