About the role

Join AWS Lambda in building global scale compute platforms focused on serverless and container virtualization technologies. Work on Firecracker, an open source virtualization technology for secure, multi-tenant container and function-based services, integrated across AWS services and used by multiple teams.

Responsibilities

  • Understand customer needs and engineer new features to meet them; own and automate operations; contribute new ideas to improve quality and development efficiency; innovate in ephemeral compute platforms; maintain the Firecracker open source project; participate in on-call rotation (approximately every 8 weeks); collaborate with diverse teams and mentors to grow skills.

Qualifications

  • Experience (non-internship) in professional software development
  • Experience using Linux, proficiency with related tools or languages
  • Interest, knowledge, and experience in low-level software engineering and/or systems programming
  • Passionate about working in the open source community
