About the role

Join AWS Lambda in building global scale compute platforms. Work on Firecracker, an open source virtualization technology for secure, multi-tenant container and function-based services. Open to contributing new features, automating operations, improving quality and development efficiency, and maintaining the Firecracker project. On-call responsibilities approximately every 8 weeks.

Responsibilities

  • Understand customer needs and engineer new features to meet them
  • Own and automate operations
  • Contribute new ideas and methods to improve quality and development efficiency
  • Innovate in the area of ephemeral compute platforms
  • Maintain the Firecracker open source project
  • Handle on-call responsibilities approximately once every 8 weeks

Qualifications

  • Experience (non-internship) in professional software development
  • Experience using Linux, with proficiency in related tools or languages
  • Interest, knowledge, and experience in low-level software engineering and/or systems programming
  • Passion for working in the open source community
