About the role

Join AWS Lambda in building global scale compute platforms focused on serverless and container virtualization technologies. Work on Firecracker, an open source virtualization project enabling secure, multi-tenant container and function-based services. Maintain and evolve the project, contribute ideas to improve quality and development efficiency, and participate in on-call rotations.

Responsibilities

  • Understand customer needs and engineer new features to meet them
  • Own and automate operations
  • Contribute new ideas and methods to improve quality and development efficiency
  • Innovate in ephemeral compute platforms
  • Maintain the Firecracker open source project
  • Participate in on-call responsibilities (approximately once every 8 weeks)

Qualifications

  • Experience (non-internship) in professional software development
  • Experience using Linux with proficiency in related tools or languages
  • Interest, knowledge, and experience in low-level software engineering and/or systems programming
  • Passionate about working in the open source community
