About the role

Security-focused development role within Amazon Security EU Operations, delivering industry-leading security services and scalable, high-availability systems for Amazon's cloud and retail services. On-call rotation every ~4–6 weeks with emphasis on work-life balance and continuous learning.

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and maintain security services used by hundreds of thousands of developers and customers
  • Invent and simplify around complex security challenges to improve user experience and security
  • Contribute to secure-by-default security services across AWS cloud services (e.g., EC2, S3) and global retail sites
  • Automate fixes for operational issues and deploy software through large automated systems
  • Participate in on-call rotations as part of the 24/7/365 EUSC Operations team
  • Collaborate with diverse teams to build scalable, available systems on a global scale
  • Engage in learning and knowledge-sharing to raise the security bar and evolve career development

Qualifications

  • Knowledge of systems engineering fundamentals (networking, storage, operating systems)
  • Experience (non-internship) in professional software development
  • Experience designing or architecting (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems
  • Experience in networking, storage systems, operating systems and hands-on systems engineering
  • Experience programming with at least one modern language such as C++, C#, Java, Python, Golang, PowerShell, Ruby
  • This role requires you to be a national of an EU member state
