Founding Engineer (Full-Stack)
About the role
Founding engineer role at Assembly HOA, an AI-native HOA management company. Full-stack engineering position with equity, located in the San Mateo Bay Area, involving ownership of problems, building with modern stack, and onboarding as a founding team member.
Responsibilities
- Own end-to-end features and problems, not just tickets
- Ship and validate impact quickly (boardroom level visibility)
- Build production software with discipline (code reviews, testing, ownership)
- Work on back-office automation, AI agents, and data migrations
- Collaborate with founders to set engineering bar and roadmap
- In-person collaboration in the Bay Area (San Mateo / Palo Alto)
Qualifications
- 3+ years of engineering experience in production software
- Product-minded with focus on feature adoption and impact
- Curious and fast learner, industry exposure
- Low ego and willingness to tackle unglamorous problems
- Experience with building or applying LLM-based solutions
- Demonstrated project you built in your own time (hard requirement)
