Founding Engineer (Full-Stack)
About the role
Founding Full-Stack Engineer role at Assembly HOA, an AI-native HOA management company. You will own end-to-end engineering problems, influence product direction, and build with a stack focused on TypeScript/Next.js, Python, NoSQL, Docker, and LLM APIs. In-person role based in Glendale, CA, with meaningful equity and comprehensive benefits.
Responsibilities
- Own problems, not tickets, including data migrations and board-level discussions
- Ship features end-to-end: design, build, ship, and measure impact
- Turn decades of documents into searchable, trustworthy answers for boards
- Automate back-office processes: invoices, reconciliation, vendor bids, homeowner notices
- Build AI agents to assist community managers and scale operations
- Collaborate with product to determine what to build and verify that it works
Qualifications
- You've built production software with engineering discipline (code review, testing, ownership)
- Product-minded: cares about feature usage and impact
- Curious and fast learner, with interest in unfamiliar industries
- Low-ego, pragmatic problem-solver willing to do what it takes
- Built real things with LLMs, and a personal project demonstrating initiative
- Hard requirement: show evidence of something you built on your own time
