About the role

Lead and build a front-end engineering team to develop a next-generation user experience for Joy, a virtual event planning platform.

Responsibilities

  • Build and lead a team of front-end engineers.
  • Implement features of various sizes in collaboration with product, customer experience, back-end, and mobile teams.
  • Design and build Joy's next-generation user experience used by millions.
  • Ensure engineering correctness, maintainability, and performance.
  • Mentor and grow engineers to be independent and proficient.
  • Hire and retain engineering talent.

Qualifications

  • Master's Degree in Computer Science or equivalent practical knowledge.
  • 6+ years of experience in the industry.
  • 3+ years of leading an engineering team.
  • Proven track record of hiring, developing, and retaining engineering talent.
  • High familiarity with JavaScript, TypeScript, React JS, GraphQL.
  • Set and uphold high standards for quality.
  • Strong skills in debugging complex applications.
  • Previous startup experience preferred.
