About the role

Staff product design role focused on building rich, intuitive experiences for students, instructors, and coaches; role includes maturing design system and developing products for Stepful partners.

Responsibilities

  • Use product thinking, visual design, and system stewardship to design best-in-class experiences for students, instructors, and coaches
  • Autonomously define opportunities and methodologies based on problem shape (prioritization, planning, research, jobs-to-be-done, user flows, wireframes, prototypes, high-quality workflows across native and web apps)
  • Identify opportunities using quantitative and qualitative data to guide design decisions with a hypothesis-driven mindset
  • Collaborate with product, engineering, growth and operations to address challenges, manage trade-offs, and energize the team
  • Own and mature the design system to evolve patterns, components, styles across all products

Qualifications

  • 8+ years of work experience with a focus on product design across mobile to web
  • Deep understanding of the tech powering digital products and collaboration with engineering
  • End-to-end product design approach (design thinking, design strategy, user problem definition, information architecture, service design)
  • Experience driving user research to understand pain points and inform product strategy
  • Experience building relationships and influencing decisions across teams
  • Experience or familiarity with Figma, Claude, Storybook, Github, and Linear
