About the role
Senior Backend Engineer role at Monzo in Barcelona, focusing on building and supporting a part of Monzo’s in-house banking platform with a backend-first approach and collaboration across multi-disciplinary squads.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with your squad to make a difference to customers.
- Build and support a particular part of Monzo.
- Work with product managers, designers, data analysts, and other engineers across squads and collectives.
- Participate in a standard interview process across collectives.
- Engage in a distributed-system focused development environment and write resilient software.
Qualifications
- Strong experience working on the backend of a technology product
- Product mindset with focus on customer outcomes and data-informed decisions
- Comfortable in a team dealing with ambiguity
- Interest in distributed systems and writing resilient software
- Experience with strongly-typed languages (Go, Java, C, Scala, etc.)
