About the role

Networking Infrastructure is a core part of the Databricks platform. The role focuses on building new backend connectivity services and leading design/development of services that connect the control plane and compute plane, enabling scalable multi-cloud connectivity and efficient cloud resource usage. Seed member for Bengaluru site, reporting to Networking Infrastructure team.

Responsibilities

  • Building new backend connectivity services that power millions of VMs running on Databricks.
  • Leading the design and development of services that power connectivity between the control plane and compute plane.
  • Collaborating with product management, operations, and other engineering teams to deliver robust, scalable networking systems.
  • Acting as a hands-on leader in a fast-paced environment and solving novel multi-cloud distributed systems challenges.

Qualifications

  • 8+ years of production level experience in Python, Java, Scala, C++, or similar language
  • 4+ years of experience developing large-scale distributed systems from scratch
  • Experience working on a SaaS platform or with Service-Oriented Architectures
  • Extensive experience working in the Networking domain
