About the role

Networking Infrastructure is a core part of the Databricks platform, enabling connectivity across cloud resources, security features, and multi-cloud/distributed systems. The role is to join the Bengaluru, India team as a seed member, building backend connectivity services and leading design/development of services that connect the control and compute planes to increase scalability and resource efficiency.

Responsibilities

  • Focussing on building new backend connectivity services that power millions of VMs on Databricks.
  • Leading the design and development of services that power connectivity between the control plane and compute plane.
  • Collaborating with cross-functional teams (product management, operations, and other engineering teams) to deliver robust, scalable networking systems.

Qualifications

  • 12+ years of production level experience in Python, Java, Scala, C++, or similar language
  • 7+ years of experience developing large-scale distributed systems from scratch
  • Experience working on a SaaS platform or with Service-Oriented Architectures
  • Extensive experience working in the Networking domain
